Yog Sports appointed “Official Merchandise Distribution Partner” of the Indian Premier League

·        Yog Sports has acquired exclusive rights to distribute branded merchandise of IPL and all 8 teams across India for a 10-year period.

·     Merchandise will include Jerseys, T-shirts, Caps, Key chains, Wrist bands, Backpacks, Gym bags, Flags, Trumpets, and other accessories including those of the official kit sponsors like Reebok, Adidas and Puma.

·     Yog will be setting up exclusive “IPL Match Stores” at stadiums, multiplexes, airports, railway stations, and ISBT’s, in addition to select malls, high streets, and IT parks.

·     Yog’s merchandise retail footprint is projected to grow from 200 outlets in Year 1 to about 1000 in Year 10; in addition, Yog is also the exclusive supplier to the IPL online match store on www.iplt20.com.

Mumbai, March 30th, 2010: The Indian Premier League (IPL) today announced that Yog Sports, a sports marketing and distribution company that provides international quality merchandise for premier sporting events has signed a 10-year exclusive deal with the league. As part of this partnership, Yog Sports will be the League’s “Official Merchandise Distribution Partner”. Yog will have the exclusive rights to distribute all official merchandise branded with the DLF-IPL brand and all the eight teams included as part of the League.

The proposed merchandise distributed by Yog Sports will include a wide product range including Apparel – T-shirts, Jerseys & Caps; Accessories – Key chains, Wrist bands, Bags and Match day cheering items like flags, cheering sticks, trumpets, and much more. These would also include products from the catalogue of the teams’ official kit sponsors which are Reebok, Adidas and Puma.

Yog has been given the exclusive rights to set up official “IPL Match Stores” inside stadiums, multiplexes, malls, high streets, airports, railway stations, metro stations, and other public locations where live IPL matches will be screened.

Lalit Modi, the Chairman and Commissioner of Indian Premier League said, “Official merchandise is an integral part of any global sporting league, as it helps enhance fans participation and team loyalties. Yog Sports will now work towards ensuring the highest quality standard for all IPL merchandise and through their robust distribution network will attempt to reach out to fans even outside the stadia and across India.”

The IPL 2010 will be the first year of operations for Yog Sports as a concessionaire of the IPL. For this year, Yog Sports is setting up 200 retail stores across 12 cities wherever the matches are being held. The company plans to scale up its operations taking its merchandise retail footprint to 1,000 stores in Year 10.

Indian Premier League
The IPL 2010 will be played over 45 days across India and will feature a grand total of 60 games, with the addition of a third place play-off.
The league will also see the addition of four new home venues in the form of Cuttack and Nagpur for the Deccan Chargers, Ahmedabad for the Rajasthan Royals and Dharamshala for the Kings XI Punjab.

External Communication Specialist
Member of the Corporate Communications team at MphasiS, an HP Company.
Will build awareness among key stakeholders about MphasiS strategy, capabilities and differentiators.
Will develop and execute an External Communications Strategy consisting of an integrated Media and Analyst enablement program.

Key responsibilities
Media Relations
 Execution of a comprehensive media outreach program for key Business Units.
 Highlight MphasiS with local, national and international media outlets - broadcast, print and Web - to ensure the company's messages are disseminated efficiently and accurately in news and feature stories.
 Day to day management of the PR Agency
 Conduct a Bi-Annual Media Audit
 Maintain a Project Plan for Media Relations
Analyst Relations
 Help develop and manage analyst relations with global business analyst groups like Forrester, Gartner, IDC and sourcing analysts like Everest, TPI, EquaTerra and others.
 Help with research and documentation for successful analyst interactions resulting in positive rating (like comparison reports/waves/industry reports)
Requirements
 Education in Marketing, Journalism/Communications preferred
 4-6 years overall work experience; prior experience in PR function desired
 High degree of organization; ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
 Ability to manage complex projects
 Interface with senior executives and provide communications counsel
 New media skills such as video, podcasting, etc.
 Outstanding (fluent) verbal and written English skills
