Army Martyrs in Kashmir: A message to an ungrateful Nation?

Maj Satish Dahiya (ASC) with 30 RR, attained martyrdom today while fighting terrorists in Langate ( Handwara).
The Officer hailing from Narnaul, Haryana had put in 7 yrs of service, estimated contact with terrorists around 1700-1730 hrs.

The Officer was fatally wounded in chest. Civilians came up and started stone pelting on soldiers in order to give cover to terrorists. 3 terrorists were however gunned down, the rest managed to escape under civilian cover.

The security forces, as in practice , were order bound to not hit civilians. Yet again it's the army and its brave hearts who are held up in the tussle between upholding human rights and upholding the anti-terrorist agenda of the Union.

Need to empower soldiers. Need to empower AFSPA. The Officer was declared brought dead at base hospital Srinagar. May the brave soul rest in peace.

Major Dahiya, 30 Rashtriya Rifles
